Wedding meal one

This evening's soiree was handily (for us) in the Saturday Club with catering by a Chinese restaurant well known to the organiser's husband. It was our first chance to meet up with Jen's old friend Gulnar, husband Cyrus and bride Arinaz since arriving, along with many other family members.

It was a lovely, informal and chatty time; fortunately for us the common language was English and we met so many fascinating folk from all across India and beyond.

As we'd imagined, the food was great, though Chinese came as a surprise. Photos are pretty poor, but stand-out dish for me was lovely "vegetable coins", sort of spicy mini patties.

It's nearly 11.30 now so not too late a finish; tomorrow we're being collected around 9.30 for the first formal part of the wedding itself. The day's looking busy!

This is our second goody bag - the first came with nibbles and medical supplies to assist with the next few days (paracetamol and Rennies!), tonight's contained small lamps. I'm sure there'll be a religious significance as Zoroastrianism seems to use fire for main symbolism. I'll try and find a chance to ask tomorrow.
