It's not all about food!
Though I accept it might seem that way.
We've enjoyed a few wanders around Bengaluru by ourselves, with Mithra and Irene (which included a Kelanan lunch), and a couple of naps which were very appreciated.
Following our first India trip twenty four years ago Mithra and Irene brought their three daughters to stay with us in Darlington. Disha was too young to go to school (but it was Disha who stayed with us during Covid lockdown as she was studying for her master's degree in Newcastle); Deepa and Divya spent aa month or so at St John's primary school (nearby and I had taught there). They had a lovely time there and memories are still very strong now they are adult professionals - this all came out this evening when they took us to Yauatcha restaurant.
We have enjoyed the most amazing evening of reacquaintance The three sisters are so close, so different from each other, and incredibly great company. The food was stunning too, described as "Asian" which seemed to mean broadly Cantonese.
Driving there took over an hour, the return perhaps twenty minutes; Bangalore traffic is legendary.
We so look forward to welcoming Divya and Deepa to Orkney, and Disha knows she would be welcome back any time.
It's almost exactly midnight here and time for bed. We're off to Kolkata tomorrow on the midday flight for several days of wedding celebrations - I may mention food again once or twice!
I am loving all the food info: keep it coming please! Rx
